Category 01

About Visagrad

Who is Visagrad for?

+

Students from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and African countries who want to study in Europe — primarily Spain, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, and the broader EU. Undergrad, master's and PhD candidates. Both budget-conscious and premium-track students.

Where are you based?

+

Online today, with our founder Ayush based in Madrid. Physical offices opening in Delhi (Q1 2026) and Madrid (Q2 2026). We work with students across continents over WhatsApp, video calls, and email — seven days a week.

How is Visagrad different from a typical study-abroad agent?

+

Four ways: we don't take a fee until you have an offer letter; we shortlist 8 universities, not 30; we coach SOPs, not write them; we stay reachable after the visa stamp. Read the four promises on our About page.

Do you take commissions from universities?

+

No. Our revenue comes only from student fees, and only after we deliver an offer letter. We never push students toward universities that pay referral commissions — that's how lists get padded with the wrong choices.

Category 02

Counseling & applications

Why only eight universities? Other agents give me thirty.

+

Because eight is what you can apply to well. Thirty applications means generic SOPs, missed deadlines, and €3,000+ in application fees. Eight tailored applications, written carefully, beat thirty rushed ones every time.

My grades aren't great. Can you still help?

+

Yes. There are excellent options for non-traditional applicants — Hungary, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, and many German Fachhochschulen welcome students with 55–65% averages. We won't pretend you can apply to Oxford. We will find programs where you compete realistically.

Can I take just counseling, without the other services?

+

Yes. Each of our four services stands alone. Many students take just counseling, use the shortlist to apply themselves, and come back later if they want help with scholarships, SOPs or visas.

How long does the counseling process take?

+

Typically 10–14 days end-to-end. Profile audit takes 90 minutes (single call). Country mapping and program filter takes us 5–7 days of internal work. Shortlist delivery plus first iteration takes another 3–5 days.

When should I start the process?

+

Ideally 8–12 months before your intended start date. For a September 2026 intake, that means starting between October 2025 and January 2026. Scholarship deadlines (especially Stipendium Hungaricum and DAAD) require an even earlier start.

Category 03

Scholarships & funding

Are scholarships only for top GPA students?

+

No. Government and EU scholarships do weight GPA — those are competitive. But need-based aid, foundation scholarships, and regional grants weight other factors (community work, professional experience, social impact, financial need). We find the ones where your profile actually competes.

Can I get fully funded studies in Europe?

+

Yes — for specific routes. Stipendium Hungaricum (Hungary) and Erasmus Mundus (multi-country) cover full tuition plus monthly stipend plus housing. DAAD and MAEC-AECID approach full funding for selected students. Most other scholarships are partial.

Can I apply for multiple scholarships at once?

+

Yes, and you should. There's no rule against multiple applications. We typically file 5–8 per student. Some are stackable, some are mutually exclusive — we map this in advance.

What's your scholarship success rate?

+

Roughly 63% of our coached students receive some form of scholarship or aid. Average savings: €8,400 per student. Some win full scholarships worth €30,000+. Some get nothing on the first try and reapply next cycle. We're honest about your odds before you pay.

What happens if I don't receive any scholarship?

+

Some students go ahead self-funded; others retry the next cycle with a stronger profile. Our scholarship service contract has a partial-refund clause for cases where no offer comes through — terms shared transparently on the discovery call.

Category 04

Tests & documents

Which English test should I take?

+

Depends on your target universities. IELTS is most widely accepted across Europe. TOEFL is preferred at ETH/EPFL and US-leaning programs. PTE is fast and growing. Duolingo (cheapest) is accepted at some private universities. We tell you the right one for your shortlist.

What score do I really need?

+

Most European master's want IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or equivalent. Top programs at ETH, IE, EPFL ask for 7.0+. Many Hungarian and German programs accept 6.0. We aim you at the realistic minimum, not the perfect score.

Can I skip the English test entirely?

+

Sometimes yes. Many universities accept Medium of Instruction (MOI) letters from your bachelor's institution if you studied entirely in English. Germany and Hungary are particularly flexible. We check this first; it can save you €200 and two months.

Will you write my SOP for me?

+

No. We coach. We ask the right questions, identify the stories, give structural and grammar feedback. But the words must be yours. AI and consultant-written SOPs are detected almost universally now.

How do transcript apostille and translation work?

+

Apostille from MEA (India) takes 2–3 weeks if you go through a registered agent. Certified translation takes another week. We coordinate the whole thing — vendor selection, courier, follow-up — so you don't lose two months to bureaucracy.

Category 05

Visa & arrival

What's your visa success rate?

+

94%+ for prepared files across our destinations. Spain and Hungary trend higher (96%+), Germany slightly lower because of stricter financial scrutiny. Switzerland is similar to Germany.

What happens if my visa is rejected?

+

We file the appeal at no additional cost and strategize a stronger reapplication. Most appeals succeed when prepared properly. We don't disappear when things get hard.

What is the German blocked account (Sperrkonto)?

+

A bank account in Germany where you must deposit €11,904 before applying for the visa, as proof of funds. After arrival, the money releases to you at €992/month. It's not a fee — it's your money, parked.

What is the APS certificate for Germany?

+

If you hold a degree from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China or Vietnam, you must verify it through the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) before applying to German universities. Takes 4–6 weeks. We start this immediately for Germany-bound students.

Can I bring my spouse or family with me?

+

Yes, in most countries — student visa holders can apply for family reunification once their residence permit is issued, typically after the first year. Spain, Germany and Hungary all have well-defined family reunification pathways.

Category 06

Pricing & fees

How much does Visagrad cost?

+

The first discovery call is free. After that, our service fee depends on which of the four services you pick (or whether you bundle). Exact numbers shared on the call, with zero pressure. No fee is charged until you have an offer letter.

When do I actually pay?

+

After you receive your first acceptance letter. Nothing upfront. Nothing during the application phase. Only when you have a tangible outcome in hand do we invoice — that's our service guarantee.

Do you have payment plans?

+

Yes, for students with funding gaps. We can split the post-offer fee into installments aligned with your departure and scholarship release dates. Discussed individually on the discovery call.

What if I don't get any offer at all?

+

You owe nothing for the application work. We bet on our shortlist quality, not your hope. Where appropriate, we'll discuss reapplying next cycle with a stronger profile.

Do you accept payment in INR / BDT / PKR / NGN?

+

Yes — in your local currency at the prevailing rate. We accept bank transfer, UPI (for India), and most regional digital payment methods. Card payment is also available.

Category 07

After graduation

Can I stay in Europe after my course?

+

Yes — every destination we cover has a post-study work pathway. Germany: 18 months. Ireland: 2 years. Netherlands: 1-year orientation visa. Spain & Italy: 1 year. Hungary: 9 months. Switzerland: 6 months. Once you have a job, you switch to a work permit.

How easy is it to actually find a job in Europe?

+

Varies hugely by destination, subject, and language. Germany and Ireland have the strongest job markets for international graduates. Tech and engineering hire fastest. Local language helps significantly in Spain, Hungary, and most EU countries.

Can I get permanent residency?

+

Yes — most EU countries grant permanent residency after 5 years of legal residence (including your study years). EU Blue Card holders in Germany can apply after 21–33 months. Each country has its own path; we brief you on yours.

Do you help with job search after I graduate?

+

Our Pre-Departure service includes basic part-time job-search guidance for your first 90 days. Full post-graduation career support is something we're building toward but not a paid offering yet. Alumni still reach out — we always help where we can.
